April at Lerg saw a series of training sessions to develop communication skills of production department managers. The idea behind the initiative was to improve the information workflow and build more robust alignment along the line Production Director – department manager – shift manager – team leader – operator.

Training participants were split into three groups, each attending two-day meetings that featured both oral presentations and practical workshops. A total of 60 personnel took part in the training, from the departments: P-P, P-F, P-L and P-A.

The sessions covered the following areas of interest, among others:

  • assertiveness and ways to use it in everyday work,
  • the role of a manager in managing a team,
  • transactional analysis as a tool for better understanding of behaviours,
  • human brain’s responses to criticism,
  • assertive communication techniques.

The training was led and delivered by an expert trainer – Jerzy Paśnik of Training Partners. The 7-hours-a-day meetings gathered participants in person in a venue in Dębica. The practical simulations generated a huge added value, with group-work opportunities to scrutinize specific scenarios and exchange real-life experiences.

Each participant received a training completion certificate. This is yet another step towards improving soft skills in the company’s production departments.
